Welcome to the first news letter of 2013. With the continued difficulties the new car park barrier gives us and the recent snow swimming on a Tuesday evening hasn’t been very straightforward over the last few weeks. We continue to work with the management of the pool to resolve and overcome the problems of the car park. Could I remind the junior section to vacate the building as soon as possible, particularly if you come by car to allow room for the masters coming in to park for the later session.

Club Championships 2013

Please find attached the schedule for this year’s club championships. In previous years we have seen a significant decrease in the number of junior swimmers attending the second and third round of the championships. We are aware that once the summer term is upon us many juniors have other sporting commitments. We hope by moving the event to fall mainly in the spring term swimmers will be able to commit to all 3 sessions.

Littlehampton Open Meet – 5 January

Congratulations to those swimmers who competed in the open meet held at Littlehampton at the beginning of the year. Swimmers representing the club included:

Becky Fuller, Joe Foot, Seth Follen, Ateya Marshall, William Morrell, Emily Morrell and Ateya Marshall.

County Qualification

Congratulations to Becky Fuller, Emma Chrismas, Jo Chrismas and William Morrell who have secured Sussex County qualification times this year. It has been many years since a junior member from the club has achieved a county time well done to you all and thank you to Mick, Audrey, Jo, Ron, Lesley and Gary who have worked with the children  over the last 12 months to enable them to achieve their improvement.

Good luck also to Andy Farrell, Shaun Challis, Mat Lambert, Jon Pook and Chris Tait from our Masters section who are also competing at the County Championships over the coming weeks.
